At Family Works Fostering, we are proud to recruit and support foster carers who provide specialist placements for Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC). These are children and young people who have arrived in the UK without a parent or guardian and who need immediate safety, care, and emotional support.
Our role is to ensure that every child receives a nurturing family environment where their language, cultural identity, and emotional wellbeing are respected and supported.

Unaccompanied asylum-seeking children are young people who have fled their home countries due to conflict, persecution, or other dangers and have arrived in the UK alone. Many have experienced:

We recruit foster carers specifically prepared to meet the needs of unaccompanied children and young people. Our approach ensures:

We work to match children with carers who can understand and support their cultural background wherever possible. Where language barriers exist, we provide access to interpreters and additional services.
Emotional & Trauma-Informed Care
Our carers receive specialist training to support young people who may have experienced trauma, displacement, and uncertainty.
Education & Integration
We help children access education, English language support (ESOL), and community services to aid their integration into UK life.
Ongoing Professional Support Carers receive dedicated supervision, training, and 24/7 support to ensure placements remain stable and successful.
